I’ve been using it to keep track of things in my schedule. I know a lot of people stay in their email most of the day and Followupthen is a great way to schedule a reminder without having to switch to another application. Sometimes, doing things from email just seems so much easier.
Followupthen is a free service, although for the premium package, you can have reminders sent to your mobile phone and customize the emails. Bob Walsh over at 47hats has a good write up on the service. To get started, just send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
